WON Winchester 5 - Trojans 1

Winchester U16 girls went into their first game against Trojans with high hopes coming off the back of an excellent season last year and a good pre-season.

The game started positively with Winchester on the front foot lead by captain Ella Chainey. A strong midfield bossed the opening of the game allowing forwards: Izzy Thomas, Becca Waggett, Bea Hepworth and Aisling Dunne to take control and put Winchester into an early lead.

The game went into half time 3-1 and the resilience of Winchester’s defence stood strong for the rest of the game keeping the home side to 1.

Winchester went on to score another 2 goals completing the hat-trick for Izzy Thomas finishing the game 5-1.

Winchester hope to take that momentum into a tough game in 2 weeks time against Bournemouth.
