Welcome to Winchester Hockey Club
Whether you are a Member or a visitor to the Club I hope that the material on the website is informative and helpful; if not, I am confident someone will let us know. This is a new website designed to improve communication within the Club enabling Members to interact with various elements that appeals to them whilst at the same time allowing guests and potential new Members to better understand the Club.
Winchester Hockey Club prides itself on being a friendly Club and regardless of whether you wish to play hockey, watch the sport at the highest level or simply enjoy the more social side of the game, you are welcome to join us. Men and Women, boys and girls of all ages from youngsters to veterans make up the many teams we field each week to suit all abilities. We recognise that some players aspire to reach their maximum potential and many of our players move on towards national and regional honours playing for the County, the South of England or their home Country. Forty years on.....
Vice President Brian Bosley recently had the chance to meet up with Bruce Abernethy-Clark. Bruce and Brian played together in the first eleven between 1970 and 1973.
Bruce now lives in North Wales.
They have kept up a correspondence since Bruce left the area, but have not met again until Tuesday 12th March 2013. Bruce and his wife Marion were staying the night locally and were able to meet up with Brian, where they reminisced about old time, especially within the hockey club.
Bruce wished to be remembered to any players still around that he would have played with.
A photograph of Bruce and Brian can be found here.
