2024 - 2025 Seasons Highlights

Another great season for the Club with a number of notable successes.

Season started with excellent Club Days (Seniors and Juniors) at the beginning of September, shortly followed by the first social event at the golf range.

The Men’s group continued to strengthen, welcoming new players, and continuing the rebuild, and once again delivered a strong set of results. Men’s 1st XI gained promotion back into South Prem Div One, and Men’s 2nd XI also promoted, keeping progress on track. Men’s Vets sides Wizards & Wanderers once again having successful seasons too, and new players also strengthening the squads.

Our Women’s teams continued to consolidate, with the new 5th XI and 4th XI coming 1st and 2nd in their leagues to gain promotion. Our 1st XI will compete back in SOuth Prem div 2 this season, and will be focussed on returning back to Prem One after a challenging and close season. New players and the excellent junior coaching programme continue to develop and introoduce players into the senior section, and this 2025-26 season we will field a women’s 6th XI for the first time ever!

Our excellent junior club have had another massive year, with superb coaching across all age groups delivering a solid programme of participation and development across all ages from 6 to 18 years. The Club is an England Hockey recognised Talent Centre, and with help of super sponsors Happy Hot Tubs, continued the school outreach programme to introduce primary school children in Winchester to our beautiful game. With one of the best junior coaching programmes in Hampshire across all age groups, and numerous fixture opportunities; plenty of hockey has been delivered and enjoyed. Competition success in EH Championship, Indoor, and both Hants In2Hockey and regional In2Hockey, U16B Tier 1 Vase winners, and U14G Supra Cup finalists - have all been achieved this season, and we are pleased to recognise our junior players who have reached England U16 representation, All the South Coast TA competition teams, South Saxons and Hampshire age group teams - well done all.

The Club has 3 men’s and 2 women’s teams and 2 mixed teams playing summer hockey throughout the summer season, and a summer camp for enthusiastic youngsters is underway again. All details on Teamo
